Abraham Lincoln - Paper 2

I was born(p) February 12, 1809, in Hardin, on a mattress of corn husks in a nest of bear rugs, now in the more recently formed county of Larue, Kentucky. My birthplace was mostly a one room, windowless, dirt floored log cabin. The cabin stood on land to which my paternitys title was uncertain. My parents were both born in Virginia, of undistinguished families, second families, perhaps I should say. My father Thomas, and granddaddy, Abraham, was born in Rockingham County, Virginia. The family was originally Quakers, though in ulterior times they have fallen away from the peculiar habits of that people. My grandfather emigrated from Virginia to Kentucky about 1781, where a year or two later, he was killed by Indians, not in battle, besides by stealth, when he was laboring to open a farm in the forest. He left a widow, three sons and two daughters. I had a sister, older than myself, who was grown and married, but died many years ago, leave no child and also a brother, younger than me, who died in infancy. Before leaving Kentucky my sister and I were sent for picayune periods, to A.B.C. schools, the first kept by Zachariah Riney, and the second by Caleb Hazel.

A few days before the... If you emergency to get a full essay, order it on our website: Orderessay
