I dont constantly commemorate getting in trouble with my grandfather. He had rules and we knew what the rules where and what would witness if we broke those rules. Papaw was working on the water pump in the well house. He had all his tools laying out that he was working with on the pump. Randy and I were helping him with the ensure and enjoying spending time with him. He showed us that when you dropped a rock n roll pop up the well it would like an awesome plunking sound. He needed add-on parts for the job and headed off to town. We stayed home to eat lunch and continue playing. After lunch our granny let us go back outside to play. We looked around and found a few larger rocks; however, we wanted more, we wanted bigger. We decided to provide one of the old tools laying there beside the well. We had dropped two of them when our grandmother came out to see what we were doing. She was not pleased with us, but she wasnt pleased with our grandfather either.
When papaw returned home with the parts, our grandmother met him at the door with the news of the tools. He was very angry and verbalize he was going to give us a whipping to remember for years.
