Its always good to dream big and reach for elevated goals, but the problem is that fact that the economy is so severe for the economy to come around. I do believe that Schultz has the ability to raise the sales for Starbucks but not 23 billion. in that respect are many things that could hold Starbucks back from reaching these heights goals.
The economy is a huge factor holding Schultz induce his goal. With the economy being so bad it has forced Schulz to nearly many of his Starbucks give aways. Starbucks has closed 31 out of 84 shops in Australia, also scaling back in Canada and Britain, which is hurting the transnational growth. Goals of opening 1,050 shops have been dropped to only opening 900 shops. Stockholder are selling their shares and take a shitting out before the stock prices spend anymore. The stock prices have fallen 15 percent in just the past year. Many stockholders are not unforced to stick around and wait to see if Starbucks is capable of spunky back.
Starbucks is also noticing a new competition rising in this economy.
This competition is another reason why I believe it is impossible to reach 23 billion in three years. Starbucks used to be the only luxury coffee shop around. No other store offered the fancy extravagantly end coffee drinks. Other stores noticed the popularity of Starbucks and joined in on the coffee war. Starbucks used to be able to charge high prices because they knew that pack would pay it because in that respect was no where else to buy from. Now-a-days people can get their luxury frappichino, lattes, etc. from their corner McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts. Not only can they get their coffee there but its a lot cheaper!
