What trains a tragicalal hero? A tragic hero should be a person of goodness, appropriateness, lifelike, and consistency. All of these necessities help to clarify the character of potty Proctor in Arthur Millers The Crucible as the tragic hero of the break away. Not only does he unfortunately chance on to unhappiness, but also his character captures the sympathy and pity from the hearing or readers. Proctors downfall in the play is initiated by a human flaw, which to a great result qualifies him to be the tragic hero.
Arthur Miller portrays John Proctor as a common farmer that is honest and living a respectable life in a Puritan townsfolk with a wife and three children. However, as the play opens, the sense of hearing discovers that Proctor has a significant secret, which was his affaire with a adolescent girl named Abigail Williams. Abigails attempts to win him back just adds on to the conflict of John Proctors life.. Therefore, the audience perceives that the affair between John and Abigail is the instigator of all the hysteria meet the witch trials, signifying the consequences of a small human error.
The affair caused Elizabeth to doubt John, who for seven months was trying to get into her good graces and is tired of her suspicion.
He reacts to this by pleading that he has no intention of entering that same road ever again in his life. This illustrates Johns perseverance in attempting to redeem himself of his sin and wishs to make right the troubles his mistake brought upon him. Because of Johns inability to agree his desire and resist temptation, his life is being turned spinning top down by the jealousy and need for revenge of Abigail, do the beginning of his downfall and path to becoming a tragic hero.
