pascal medium-large was a apparition that entered Franciss life during the novel. Billy, Franciss son had saved D adjoiny Bigs life one night when he was drunk and had vomited. Billy had turned Daddy Big on his side so he would not choke on his vomit. Although Daddy Big did die until nowtu solelyy, he go forth Francis with a piece of advice never inhale your own vomit. Francis feel outs in the novel he did not need Daddy Bigs advice for he knew how to drink, he did it all the time and never vomited. In a literal sense, Daddy Big did say do not choke on your vomit, but in an abstract sense he was telling Francis to beware that all actions have consequences that you must deal with. This was a part left out of the film that should have been incorporated. It would have been brightness to add it in right before Francis goes to see Geralds dangerous as he is approaching the graveyard. I feel that this diorama foreshadows that one of Franciss flaws is that he does not own up to the fact that his actions have consequences.
Francis drops his son, Gerald and the delinquency he felt approximately this caused him to leave his family because he could not face them after what he had done. In the novel, Geralds ghost has a a good deal larger part than in the movie.



The novel talks about how smart and special Gerald was-that he could communicate so well with adults even though he was so young. It describes Geralds body decaying in the grave and that his body could have experienced so much more if it were not for Francis. Francis feels a great deal of guilt about dropping his son and it is a major engagement throughout the novel. Although this scene was in the movie, I felt that it was not emphasized enough. This was a very important part of the novel, it introduced us to the reasons why Francis left his family but it also let us feel his vulnerability and remorse for what he had done.
