Trinidad was discovered on July 31st, 1498 by Christopher Columbus on his third voyage to The Holy Trinity, which is where Trinidad got its name. instantaneously after disco very, Trinidad became inhabited by the Arawaks; Carib Indians. In 1802, Trinidad was ceded to Britain. Tobago, near Trinidad, was passed amongst Britain and France until 1814 when it was ultimately given to Britain. In 1889, Trinidad and Tobago was made into a unmarried colony.
In 1925, partial self-government was instituted in Trinidad and Tobago. On wondrous 31st, 1962, it gained its independence and on August 1st, 1976, Trinidad and Tobago became a republic, remaining indoors the Commonwealth. Today, Trinidad is ran by President A.N.R. Robinson and the Prime Minister is Basdeo Panday.
Today, Trinidad is a very interesting place to visit. They have many activities and sports to keep a person busy. For example, Trinidads national sport is Cricket. Some opposite sports include soccer, and track & field. The most practiced religions in Trinidad are Islam and Hinduism. Trinidad is also known for some of their historied nutriment dishes.
One of the more famous ones is the lightlessness Cake, which is made with modify fruit and soaked in cherry brand rum, iced and decorated. Black Cake is most commonly used as a wedding cake. Another good dish prepared by Trinidadians is called Doubles. This Indian-inspired dish consists of curried chick peas served between two soft circles of fry dough called bara.
Over the years, Trinidad and Tobago has also become known for their erratic styles of medicine. One style, Calypso, combines African traditions of lively rhythm and a all the way improvised tell-it-like-it-is attitude with European languages, scales and musical instruments.
