Global warming is an increase in the Earth’s average surface temperature. The reason for this is that in that respect has been a build-up of certain gases in the earth’s atmosphere. This level of gases which includes carbon dioxide act like the glass panes of a greenhouse. They retard in heat from the sun that could otherwise radiate tail end into space. When the heat has been trapped in the atmosphere for a immense period of time, it could result to greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases such as methane are called greenhouse gases.
The amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere has increased more than 21% when industrial revolution in the late 17th speed of light has started to boom. This increased is the result of burning fossils fuels such as coals, petroleum, and innate gas. When these fuels are burned for energy, they release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, thus devising the greenhouse effect stronger.
If the carbon dioxide levels peep increasing at the present rate, scientist hypothesized that Earth’s temperature may increase by 2oc to 4oc by the year 2050. Scientist also predicts that global warming of save a few degrees could bring near major climate changes. It could cause the oceans to warm and expand, raising sea levels by about 50 centimeters.
